High Viscosity Crude Resin

Description

Petadd PR-1810 is a crude resin derived from refinery processes, it is higher in carbon and lower in sulfur & oxygen than other resins derived from naphthenic and asphaltic crudes. Petadd PR-1810 is a high viscosity, high boiling point heavy hydrocarbon.

Application

  • Can be used in grease formulations to increase viscosity.
  • Provides viscosity modification for applications such as metalworking, wire rope lubricants, and open gear compounds.
  • Widely used in in asphalt modification, for both roofing and paving.
  • Can be used to control the quench rate of quenching oils.
  • Adds gloss to coatings, and hardness when baked.
  • Also compatible in spirit varnishes, phenolics, alkyds and ester gum varnishes.

Advantages

  • An economical means of building viscosity.
  • Will make mineral oils less sensitive to temperature changes.
  • Its high boiling point makes PR-1810 an ideal component in quenching operations.

Storage and Handling
