Andrew walks the walk for Charity

30 July 2019

Petrico Managing Director, Andrew Lamb has raised nearly £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support after completing the South Coast Mighty Hike recently.

Macmillan Cancer Support helps people with cancer to live life as fully as possible, providing physical, financial and emotional support.

“Cancer has cruelly claimed the lives of two young and brilliant people in my life,” Andrew explains “In 2018, Jo Clarke died after courageously fighting breast cancer for 6 years, aged just 35. Anthony Bowden, my cousin and one of my best friends, died after developing secondary lung cancer which had spread from his bones in 1996, aged just 20.”

“All donations to the Charity go towards helping people in the most desperately difficult times. Every penny will be appreciated.”

Andrew’s official finish position was 211th out of 2000 as he recorded a time of 7 hours and 40 minutes across the 26 mile route from Brighton to Eastbourne along the South Downs Way.

“Thank you to everybody who has support me and donated,” he adds. “It really did help on the day and, more importantly, it will help Macmillan Cancer Support.”
